I’m sorry to say I’m going to be closing Housekeeping, and will be cancelling payments/refunding pro rata those who paid for a year’s sub. The reason isn’t a dramatic one – it’s simply that what I put into this newsletter is greater than what I get out of it, and engagement isn’t high enough for me to continue.
Thank you very much to those of you who have approached me in person to say they find the posts useful, and those who’ve messaged and commented. And to the rest of you, thanks for sticking with me until now.
Part of being a creative, of being a writer, is knowing when to quit. I had rather high hopes for this little corner of the internet, and it was fun for a while, but it turns out continually looking back at a previous project is hindering me getting into gear for future ones. Who’d have thought?
I hope you found some of it useful, and thank you so much for your support and interest. I will be leaving the posts where they are – I’ve no plans to delete the Substack for now.

Hi Stacey. I’m sorry to hear this as have really enjoyed your posts but completely understand your reasoning. Look forward to your next book!
Ah, gutted! I've been promising myself a summer subscription to it after I've read The Household (because I didn't want to give myself spoilers 🙈). For those of us who are yet to subscribe, will there be a way to access the back catalogue of posts you've shared for subscribers only? Will they become accessible to non-subscribers moving forwards instead? Thanks, Portia (P.S. It's so refreshing to see someone share when a project has just ran its course, thanks for the honesty!)
